DAILY DWELL GUIDE

  • Praying Psalm 103 is a helpful guide:

    “Bless the Lord, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with lovingkindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, So that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.”

    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103‬:‭1‬-‭5‬

  • This Psalm is in present tense, so pay attention to how Jesus your Shepherd is doing these things right now:

    “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me All the days of my life; And I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever.”

    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭23‬:‭1‬-‭6‬

    “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, ‘He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust’”.

    Psalms 91:1-3

  • “Our Father in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, As we forgive our debtors. And do not lead us into temptation, But deliver us from the evil one. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭9‬-‭13‬

    2. Anchor Prayers can help keep you focused:

    • Lord, I wait on you

    • Lord, I trust in you

    • Lord, I dwell in you

    3. Present anything on your heart or mind to Jesus, and see how He responds to you.

    4. Give him time to speak anything He wants to speak to you.

    As you sit with Jesus, remember He offers to give you what you need today.

    • Jesus, I receive your peace

    • Jesus, I receive your joy

    • Jesus, I receive your love

  • The Prayer of St Francis is a great example:

    Lord, make me an instrument of your peace.

    Where there is hatred, let me sow love;

    Where there is injury, pardon;

    Where there is doubt, faith;

    Where their is despair, hope;

    Where there is darkness, light;

    And where there is sadness, joy,

    O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;

    To be understood, as to understand;

    To be loved, as to love.

    For it is in giving that we receive;

    It is in pardoning that we are pardoned;

    And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

    Amen
